AOT opens 2007 with a touring production of Handel’s beloved 1718 masterpiece. Undoubtedly the most popular work during Händel’s lifetime, Acis and Galatea continually out does itself. Each aria is more tuneful than the last, each tune more witty, each witticism more subtle, and each subtlety more hilarious. With texts by the likes of Dryden, Pope, and Gay, this little English comedy offers many of Händel’s most memorable melodies and touching ensembles.

The Show

AOT brings Acis and Galatea to life in a new production meant for kids and kids at heart. The music comes to life as AOT goes to the circus. With mime, magic, and aerial performance – with ringmasters, clowns, and dancing bears – AOT makes Handel’s notes jump off the page in its most creative and visceral show yet.
